Frequently asked questions
Ordering and paying
How do I place an order?
Add products to your cart, choose the delivery country and city, then the payment method. One order is created per seller; track each one under "My orders" and get notified at every step (in-app, email, WhatsApp and push notifications if you enable them).
Which payment methods do you accept?
International bank cards (Visa, Mastercard) in euros or dollars; cash on delivery anywhere in Côte d’Ivoire for sellers based in Côte d’Ivoire; bank transfer in escrow for B2B orders; mobile money in CFA francs (Wave, Orange Money, MTN MoMo, Moov Money) as soon as it is activated on the platform.
When does the seller get paid? (escrow)
Never before you. Your money is held in escrow by DalpaMarket and only released to the seller once delivery is confirmed. If a dispute is opened, funds stay locked until mediation.
Which currency are prices shown in?
Each seller sells in their own currency (CFA, euro or dollar) and prices are converted automatically into yours. The CFA/euro peg is fixed (655.957); the dollar rate is refreshed several times a day.
Can I cancel an order?
Yes, while it is still "awaiting payment": use the "Cancel order" button on the order page and the stock is returned to the seller. After payment, contact the seller through messaging or report a problem.
Delivery
What are the delivery fees and lead times?
Each seller defines their zones (Abidjan, inland Côte d’Ivoire, WAEMU, international), fees and lead times — shown before payment and included in the total. In Abidjan, fresh products are delivered within 6 hours under cold chain.
Do you deliver internationally?
Yes, from sellers serving the "International" zone (mostly dry goods: cashew, dehydrated attieke, spices, textiles, equipment). From the diaspora you can also order in euros or dollars and have your family delivered in Abidjan: see the Diaspora hub.
How is the freshness of fish and meat guaranteed?
Fresh-product sellers must hold a health approval (MIRAH), displayed on their listings. Fresh goods travel under cold chain, and you have 48 hours after receipt to report any problem, with photos.
Returns, disputes and guarantees
What if something is wrong with my order?
On the order page, click "Report a problem" (48 h for fresh goods, 7 days otherwise after delivery). The seller is notified, funds stay locked, and a DalpaMarket mediator decides if needed: refund or delivery confirmation.
How are sellers verified?
Every seller provides an ID and a business document (trade register or OHADA entrepreneur declaration), checked by our team. The "Verified" badge only appears after validation; fresh-food sellers must also show their health approval.
Are customer reviews genuine?
Yes: only buyers whose order was delivered can rate the products they received. One review per product per buyer.
Selling on DalpaMarket
How do I open a shop?
Create an account with "I want to sell": your shop is live in minutes. Luz, our assistant, writes your listings, recommends prices for your target market and translates your listings into English. Publishing is free up to 20 listings.
What are the fees?
From 3% (live cattle) to 12% (fashion, beauty, home) depending on the category, 18% VAT included, charged only on delivered sales — full details on the "Sell" page. Pro (7,500 CFA/month) and Export (25,000 CFA/month) plans unlock more.
When do I get paid as a seller?
As soon as the buyer (or the carrier) confirms delivery, the escrowed funds are released to you, minus the fee. In case of dispute, mediation decides within days.
Who is Luz?
Luz is DalpaMarket’s AI assistant. She helps buyers find and compare, sellers create listings, set prices and run their shop. For administration, Luz proposes but never applies anything without human validation.
Videos and the AI Studio
What does the "IA" badge on some videos mean?
It marks a video generated with artificial intelligence from the seller's AI Studio: either an animation of the product photo, or a virtual ambassador presenting it. The product itself is still photographed by the seller; the badge guarantees transparency.
Who are Awa, Chef Koffi and the other ambassadors?
Virtual presenters created by DalpaMarket: twelve profiles covering every universe (market, kitchen, export, tech, fashion, equipment, home…). They keep the same appearance from one video to the next and always disclose their nature through the "IA" badge.
How do I get these videos for my shop?
With the Studio plan: 8 video credits per month (an animation costs 1 credit, an ambassador 2), plus extra credit packs (5, 12 or 30) that never expire. Everything happens in the "AI Studio" of your seller space; Luz even writes the pitch for you.
